    Game freezes, sends back to dashboard and won’t relaunch


    Just bought Xbox One off of a family friend who had an extra console. Have been playing COD MW (disc version) and sometimes it works perfect but then other times I’m experiencing game freezing while playing multiplayer online. Once game freezes, within 5
    seconds it will kick me, with no error message, back to dashboard screen at which time the game will not relaunch. This will continue for hours on end.

    What I’ve done...

    -Restarted Console (manyyyy times)

    -Uninstalled game add ones then reinstalled (twice)

    -Removed account from xbox and re-added

    -Cleaned disc and used compressed air to clean xbox

    -Uninstalled everything again and downloaded to 1TB external hard drive

    -Speedtested wifi and running 48mbps

    Please, help before this finds its way to the bottom of a pond. Thank you.

    Just completed the reset with keeping games and apps but unfortunately, still does not work. Went in to open Ground Wars and as soon as it loads, freezes and kicks me back to dashboard.

    Hi there

    Sorry to hear about the current situation you're experiencing. I would like to suggest trying 1 thing.

    I see that everything to help eliminate the issue has been done.

    But you could try this also,

    On your console head over to settings, network settings, advanced, alternate MAC address and select clear. That will automatically restart your console so don't be concerned if you see the console turn off during the process. It might help. It sometimes
    helps me when i experience issues with games performance or console lagging.

    I have had this happen before but its generally just sortsd itself out after a hard reset.
    It will typically let me back in to the game after a hard reset but then when the map loads it’ll boot me back to dashboard

    I had these exact issues and found my console was faulty and couldn't handle playing COD.

    I got a replacement console and COD now works perfectly.

    Seems like COD really pushes the console so if it has any issues it kills it.
