Game freezes at the same point

Recently purchased Red Dead Redemption 2 on Xbox One. However ive come across a problem regarding Red Dead Online.

Every time I load up to online, I select between a Male or Female character. Once this happens im required to name my character and change there apperance. It freezes everytime roughly around the same point, between putting the name and changing his apperance.

i contacted Rockstar Support and went through many troubleshooting methods to try and fix the problem. Such as reinstaling the game, factory resetting my console but using the “keep game save data” option. Unplugging the power box from my xbox and plugging
it back in. Nothing had fixed the problem.

I have no other problems with any other games, Story mode also seems to work fine. Does anyone have an explanation for this? Thanks

I believe Rockstar needs to release a patch/update to fix this issue, as this has affected multiple users.

Hi there, yeah i only just found out its actually a bug on Rockstars end this morning. Many new players are experiencing the same thing

Have you tried to uninstall the game and re-install it?

I believe there's been many user reports that RDR2 Online is having issues for Xbox One gamers. It's most likely on Rockstar's end. We'll have to wait and see if they will update/fix the problem soon.

Hello Dvyv,

Sorry for the issue with the game freezing. Have you tried restarting your network hardware. Unplug router/s for 30 seconds and plug back in? As this is in game Rockstar would be the ones to handle this.
