Game folder access

Hello.

I'm feeling quite frustrated about this .. it seems you have locked access to the games' folders without allowing me to modify them, making the modding part of gaming (you know, why i like PC better than consoles ?) impossible with your game pass system.

First, i find it shady that you lock files out of administrator's privilege on MY computer and i find that extremely stupid to do such a thing.

Can you explain me how to grant me access to the files ?

Hi Noodles,

The game files are used for all games you own, game pass games, and free play weekend games. Microsoft has locked the privileges to access them exactly for that reason, is so they cant be tampered with.
As the question has been answered, I will go ahead and lock this thread as to prevent repetitive answers. Feel free to come back anytime if you have a question or issue.

That's why i play on pc, i don't care about what MS thinks because if the game devs allowed their creation and use, i won't go through the same
[Mod Removed Profanity] the console users have to deal with and their shady deal type end of the stick and paid internet services.

Modding games isn't allowed and is against the Xbox TOS. Which is why you can't do it

Access to the WindowsApps folder is a general Windows thing, not because of a Game Pass subscription. All Windows 10 apps and games install to this folder, Game Pass and Windows Store. You can still gain access to the folder.

Hi,

I did try it. That's why I am here asking about it.

I installed the XBOX Game Pass for PC Games on an external USB Drive.

There is a WindowsApps folder on that drive.

If I click on it, a popup window appears, with a yellow triangle and ! mark.

"You don't currently have permission to access this folder.

Click Continue to permanently get access to this folder. "

If I click on "Continue" and another popup window appears, with a yellow triangle and ! mark.

"You have been denied permission to access this folder."

To gain access to this folder you will need to use the security tab
