Game failed to install

I haven’t played my game for a few months and I’ve got it out to reinstall it but when it got to 78% it said it had stopped installing, I’m not sure if the disk is damaged but I’m not sure how it could be as it’s been sitting on a shelf for months is there anyway for me to continue the installation or have I just lost my game for good?

I have just tried this and it does not work, when I go into the app and find the game there is no “download to console” button just a “launch on console” button which brings me to the game on Microsoft store and asks me to buy it. Is there another solution?

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

Let's try installing the disc game digitally by following the steps below:

"1. Cancel the installation and remove the disc.

2. Perform a powercycle on your console.

A. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

B. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

3. Launch Xbox app on your phone and search for the game.

4. Click the game and choose "Download to Console"

5. Wait for the game to install completely before inserting the disc to play it."

Were you able to make sure that the game is successfully canceled on your console and performed the power cycle? Seems like the app is still detecting the game is installed on your Xbox console which is why there is no option "Download to Console".

if an updates fails to install properly then it can cause a full re-install of that game.

i'd suggest un installing the game and then re installing it and starting again if that fails to work let us know
