    Game failed to install and is now taking up phantom space on pc.


    Hello,

    I tried installing Forza Horizon 5 today and partway through I paused the download. And forgetting about the download, I restarted my computer after some time. And now I noticed that a folder is taking up 101 gigabytes of storage on my pc and when I go into the Xbox app to resume the download, It shows no in progress or paused downloads and it wants me to install forza all over again. Additionally any attempts to manually delete this folder are futile as I can't seem to get elevated enough permissions. I get stuck on needing "permission from TrustedInstaller" to delete anything. What do I do???

    First, welcome to the Xbox community. Given the problem you are having, I suggest you try the procedure below.

    (Some users have reported that this allows downloading the game)

    1. Go into the Microsoft Store and search Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition.

    2. Next you want to click on Forza Horizon 5 Standard Edition and you want to click Install from the Xbox app.

    3. This will take you to the Xbox app and when it takes you to the Forza game scroll down and look at the tab named "Included in this bundle" And click Forza Horizon 5.

    4. This should take you to the regular Forza Horizon 5 game rather than the Standard Edition, And then you want to click install and this should download the game.

    - If that works, the download will probably pick up where it left off.

    You can get access to non pc games or use games that require more power then your pc can output (like flightsim 2020

    Also you don't need to take up space on your hdd since the install is in the server

    But you do take a performance hit

    Where do you find how much storage space your console has left?

    It isn't on there right now. You can only see hom much space each of the games you have installed takes up. No total space used yet. Coming with next update MS said.
