Hi,

A couple of months ago my kids got an error message for minecraft for our xbox 360 that the game couldn't start and to try downloading the game again. We looked at the disc and it was pretty scratched up so we figured that the kids hadn't take care of the
disc so we bought a new one. Since we purchased a new disc of Minecraft for the xbox 360 we still keep getting the game error message "The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again." This game wasn't downloaded from xbox live, it was a new unused
disc. I tried to see if an xbox 360 ambassador could help but after a long delay I got a message that no one was available to answer this question. I looked under game troubleshooting and couldn't find a solution there either. The disc is clean & unscratched
and our xbox 360 plays our other games fine without any error messages. Can anyone help us with this problem?

I am sorry you are having this problem.

Try the following steps to Regain game play.

Step 1:

Clear Cache and try game disk again.

If Step 1 didn't work then try step 2.

Step 2:

1.move all saves to usb or Icloud.

2.delete everything else about the game from your system and clear cache.

3. try game again, if it worked restore game saves onto your xbox and redownload all addons from your history and have fun.

if step 2 didn't work then restart xbox and try disk again, if problem persists then repeat step 2.

also if game is not working test the game out at a friends or a gamestop if no friends have an xbox360 close by

Ditto. Tried above plus reformatting hard drive.

Suspect it was an update that broke this as it was working before.

Xbox not been used for a while so the update may have been oldish.
