Game DVR

I can't get audio to record in my clips anymore. For the first two months I owned my Xbox One (purchased a couple of weeks before this past Christmas) I was recording dozens of clips unaware that no sound had been recorded. I searched for hours on
the internet and I came across "hard reset" and "reset to factory defaults". I have tried resetting to factory defaults, it did nothing but waste my time and force me to re-install a half dozen games which took hours. I have had very
MINIMAL success with the hard resets. I would say 1/10 hard resets I'll be able to record a clip with audio but then I shut down my console and reboot it only to find out the problem is still persisting.

Needless to say I am considerably annoyed with my Xbox One experience so far. I realize that this is off topic but the user interface/dashboard makes me cringe every time I have to navigate it, installing games from the market or from a disc takes
literally HOURS and now I can't even enjoy my recorded clips because Game DVR has been broken for who knows how long. I've seen some forums and websites say it was supposedly fixed last year and others say it's still broken, which I would
have to agree with them. I see no reason to believe this is non issue when clearly there are tons of people experiencing the very same thing.

If it matters at all I don't allow my Xbox One to be connected at all times, I don't hibernate it. I have all of those settings disabled and I complete a proper shut down every time I get off, meaning I "Quit" any and all apps/games that are running
and I power down by controller or swiping the front and waiting for the console and controller(s) to stop blinking before putting everything away. I own a special limited edition 500gb Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Xbox One without Kinect.

If you go to the Settings and select preferences make sure Record Gameplay with Game DVR is checked. If it is try unchecking it and rechecking it.

I hard reset my console a few more times to try and get the DVR to record sound and to my surprise it had started working, the only problem is the sound was so far behind the clip that the entire audio was behind by at least 3-4 seconds. Wonderful.
