Game DVR: Unable to save content to console

Hey all. I've been browsing the web and the forum for a solution to my problem. Thus far, my search has been fruitless. In fact the last thread I was reading said to create my own thread about the problem and then perhaps we can find a solution. I'm not
holding my breath.

Anyways, I have recorded about 6 30 second clips to my Xbox One using the snap feature, and not the Kinect since I don't have one. All of them were recorded from Fallout 4 (love the glitchy videos) and can be seen in both the Upload Studio and Game DVR apps.
Since I am not a gold member, I can't share them using upload studio. That's fine. Just want to store them on my Xbox. However, when going to Game DVR app, using the manage function, selecting an individual clip, and hitting save, I get a message that tells
me that the Xbox gods are sorry, but the clip can't be saved. Please try again.

So I try again, and again, and again. This does nothing. Restarting the console, changing the start up options. None of my basic troubleshooting has worked. I've read that in order to save clips you needed to have Xbox Live when recording the clip. I hope
this isn't true. As these great clips will expire soon and I won't be able to enjoy the quirkiness of my Fallout 4 adventures. I hope someone finds the solution and just happens to post it here. Thanks for your help folks.

I'm having this same problem and I'm thinking you need a gold account because I had a two week trial and was able to save and after it ended I couldn't save which is *** ridiclous. I love the Xbox but hate how Microsoft things theyre gods of gaming

Do you have any other accounts on the console that you can test with? I'd like to make sure this isn't simply an account issue and is happening with everyone on your console.

Just tried on a separate account. I created a 22 second clip and then opened game DVR. Got the same error message on the other account:

"Capture Not Saved

Sorry, the capture you selected was not saved. Please try again."

 

I'm having a similar problem (only with screenshots instead of game clips). I also can't upload anything to my onedrive account, which means all my screenshots are stuck on my Xbox 1. (T-T )

I've checked the forums but the only answer seems to be either "start a new thread" or "private message" a staff member. Please Misses Quinzel, what do we do?

As I stated above, it's definitely being looked into, however I do not have any further information I can provide, or workarounds at this time. Please hang tight! When I have an update for you, I will post back in here.

 

Any new info from the Xbox overloads? As my videos are disappearing because they can't be saved. Thanks for any additional info.

 

Hey, Daviathon! No news here. And I don't know how long this is going to take to get news back, either. However, I did check on it yesterday and they are still looking into it.

Once I have more information, I will be sure to post back in here for you.

 

2 weeks and still nothing to help this guy out. Why isnt the software MS relasing working for some and other not?

MS OS is a joke and it kills me to say it.

Heres a fix, cancel your service, tell everyone you know MS support is the worst and trade that borked pile of plastic in at gamestop and get a PC.

 

Hey, guys! I just heard back today. Looks like this is currently by design. I'm not sure what change happened, but it was intended.

However, I highly suggest you post up a suggestion on the
Feedback site to allow silver accounts the ability to save screenshots and clips. From there, that information, along with how popular it is, gets sent to the teams that work on these kind of items.

We are currently working on changing one of our support articles to reflect this update, too.
