Game DVR- Sorry we could not record that, Error 0x800040005

I just got my Xbox One a week or so ago and thought i would give the record function a go.

When i play Fifa 14, it records saves and goals ( highlights i don't even want ) automatically ok but when i give the command Xbox Record That it does nothing and when i Snap the DVR and tell it to record i get that error message the second i stop recording

Any help to sort this would be appreciated

Xbox One game DVR will not record

When I try to use the game DVR feature an error message pops up saying: sorry, we couldn't record that. (0x8232300b)

I'll even say Xbox record that! Nothing happens.

Snap game DVR and try manual record and that's when I get the error message. Please help me!

Basic transitions for the DVR function

For some reason my game dvr won't record it's saying sorry we couldn't record that(0x82323002) what does it mean plz help

I believe that particular error is related to your internet connection. I've had the same error pop up through various things and a reboot of all my network equipment usually sorts it out. I know it sounds silly, but I do believe Xbox's DVR does require
an internet connection.

I could be wrong of course, but as suggestions go it's all I got.

Try power cycling the console itself (support.xbox.com/.../power-cycle-console) and see if that helps at all.

I tried both suggestions and neither worked. Still get the same error message and can't record on command.

I'm having this issue as well, been trying record all day but to no avail. Like oX said, when you tell it to "Record That" there is no notification or feedback that did it record it. When you manually do it through the Game DVR app, it says "Sorry, we couldn't
record that" and gives an error number of sorts.
