    Game DVR Problem for full-screen


    Hello Microsoft and users. I would like to get a few questions of mine answered. It is most probably a bug, and if yes, I am really looking forward for it to get fixed ASAP!

    So, my problem is the following...

    I simply cannot record games, nor open menu nor anything if in full-screen mode. Yes, I looked for fixes first, and found a thread of yours, Microsoft, which was stating about my problem that I need to go to windowed mode, open the menu bar and press "Yes,
    it is a game" or something like that, but oh well - the bar has no checkbox for that!

    I have no problems with recording GTA V, but the above problem was seen in GTA SA (SA:MP). I have only tested these two so far as I just got my new PC and have only these two. More detailed...when I press the key combination that leads to start recording, the
    screen flashes, but no timer in the corner appears and it is not actually recording. In GTA 5, the screen flahes, timer appears - recording, when I press the key combination again, recording ends, video is saved - voila! I wish it was that easy in GTA SA:MP
    too...any idea on how to fix that myself? If impossible, could you, Microsoft, please fix it asap? I am sure I am not the only one facing this issue.

    P.S. - Sometimes when I spam the key combination to record in SA:MP, when I minimize the game to see if I have recorded anything, a window pops out, saying something like..."This game cannot be recorded right now. Please try again later." Not sure if it was
    exactly that - to do what it says? Wait? Eh, that appeared last night and today it ain't working either.

    Why not do what you wanted to, full screen, then snap the Game DVR when you're done and save the last five minutes? (Via "End clip")

    Game DVR terminates after 40 seconds.

    So, I tried different ways to determine the cause of the problem and found almost nothing. Since Game DVR records most games in windowed mode and does not work in full, I guess some script inside the Game DVR resets recording after 40 seconds (after 53 times,
    twice record was more than 2 minutes).

    I was able to run "This War of Mine" in full-screen mode, and that's record is correct (limited to two hours in the settings of the Game DVR).

    I contact the support, but because my English is poor, we hardly got to understand each other.

    XBOX Game Bar cannot record the screen (neither in game nor desktop)

    Check your Game DVR settings: Open the Xbox app,
    then Settings and then Game DVR. Make sure that Record game clips and screenshots using Game DVR
    is set to On. Make sure that the game isn't set to full-screen mode only. You can use the Game
    bar     for some full-screen games, but not all.

    If the DVR record that feature works well with other games in full-screen display mode, that would mean the DVR is not fully compatible with CS:GO, you might update your Windows 10 to latest for a try. Good luck.

    Snap update

    I can't go full screen.

    When I go to my games and apps and press start on Game DVR I can only select pin to home or help.

    When I go to my dashboard and go to the pin and press start it only shows remove pin or move pin.

    Tried to open dvr straight after xbox started up and it opens settings and game dvr as a snap

    I am playing on full screen
    Have you tried recording in windowed mode? Game DVR has issue with some games in fullscreen, including CS:GO

    Give it a try, and let us know if it works windowed.
