    Game dvr not saving clips?


    I was using the game dvr on mine craft, I have recorded multiple clips before and have never had this issue. However I am unable to find the location of a clip that I had recorded, it showed up on my notifications bar that I had recorded, yet when I went into
    Xbox live to view it the clip was not appearing, I looked in the folder where the videos normally saved and it was not there either. How can I recover that video clip?

    Hi TriedBasket635,

    By default, the video clips that you captured are saved to the Captures folder which is located in the Videos folder. Regarding your concern, it is possible that the video clips weren't captured successfully that's why it doesn't show up on the Captures
    folder. Can you tell us if you're getting the same issue if you record another game clips on your game? Also, is your Windows 10 updated?

    I have also noticed that the save feature seems to no longer be a thing. I just checked my Game DVR and it has all my recordings and screenshots from now to two years ago. I'm not sure if two years ago is the limit, since I know I have been recording clips
    for longer than that, or if two years ago they got rid of the need to save the clips and the game DVR will store the clips forever now.

    Turn Off Video Snapshots

    When on the Xbox One home screen press the menu button and go to settings, then preferences, and uncheck where it says "record clips with game DVR." Saved clips can be found and deleted in the Upload app, not Upload Studio though. Highlight clips in the
    "saved clips" section, press the menu button, then choose delete.

    The amount of time is around 40 day or so. But you need to go in to the Game DVR and select each one you want to save.

    They are saved to the game DVR but unless as Daft Badger says you go in to the game DVR and select the once you want to keep in for all times you need to select them again and select save they will get a light colored edge around them these will not be
    deleted after 40 day.

    Extra tip:

    Creat a game clip from certain clips together via the upload studio app and save this one.

    Plus you can also save them to you One Drive.
