    Game DVR not recording at 4k after latest update


    As per title, I am in the Delta ring and received an update within the last week or so (OS 10.0.19041.3068), and since then haven't been able to record clips at 4K res. I have the option set to 4K HDR and Internal storage, but it only seems to record at 1080p.

    Have only been playing Assassins Creed Odyssey and trying to record clips from that, so unsure if it's just an issue with the game or the OS build, but thought it worth bringing up. I also intermittently seem to be not able to capture screenshots as well. Again it's with the same game, at 4K HDR, but sometimes it will work, and other times will not.

    Thought the latest update would fix this issue, but still having problems recording clips from games like Fallout 4, The Division, and other large games. I can use the Record That, and once use the DVR Snap to record 5 minute clips. But after the first
    recording, the next attempt the DVR just circles away.

    Xbox One X DVR Breaks

    Wow, i just found out that latest update 10.0.19041.2493 made it worse - DVR feature is totally killed now. Tried both 4K SDR and 4K HDR.

    So i start recording, couple of minutes later it stops. Result is a broken video file ~ 5-10 mb.

    If the DVR record that feature works well with other games in full-screen display mode, that would mean the DVR is not fully compatible with CS:GO, you might update your Windows 10 to latest for a try. Good luck.

    My one X has a 1tb external HD formatted to NTFS connected to it for recording game play. The issue i have are as follows:

    1. When selecting the external device as the DVR recording location no notification pops up stating i can record for 60 min (this appeared previously)
    2. All options only show 30 seconds recording time
    3. I did a test, selected 4k UHD (30 seconds) and started to record game play, when going in to stop the gameplay the clock was set to 60 minutes record time but this stops randomly on any given minute.
    4. Watching the recording back on a Mac desktop it is not in 4k but 1080p 30fps.
    I am assuming this is some sort of bug?, the one x is on the latest release and no updates are available.
    Yes you're right. This is a bug. Microsoft implemented a temporary fix where clips that do not record in 4K will record in 1080p instead. The're working on it.
