    Game DVR no longer recognizing games


    I've been using the Game DVR on Windows 10 to record games. It was working fine up until early this morning.

    Around 1:30 or 2:00 this morning, I called it a night, thinking things would work like usual. Now when I pull up a game to record, the Game Bar comes up fine, but I get an error message that there's nothing to record.

    The problem is that these are all games I've recorded portions of before.

    Xbox Game DVR no longer works

    September of 2017 I used Xbox Game DVR on my Win 10 PC to record a video. It went well for me, got a 6 min video just as I wanted. Now I am trying to make another video and Xbox tells me my hardware is not capable of doing the job.

    My hardware has not changed, I just upgraded the Intel HD Graphics drivers but Game DVR still refuses to work. What has Windows done to prevent me from using DVR Feature? YES I have allowed ALL WIndows 10 updates and upgrades to Win 10 Home 1709 build 16299.371
    Intel Celeron G1620 @ 2.70Ghz with 4GB Ram, 64bit OS, x64 based processor

    Xbox one automatically recording game clips (FM5 Drifting Away)

    Turn off the game DVR completely. Settings preferences turn off game DVR. Note that with it off all gameplay recording including manual methods like record that and the DVR app will no longer be able to record. Hopefully they will add an option to turn off
    just the auto recording.

    Incorrect configuration setting is one of the possible reasons why the Game DVR no longer recognizing games. To help you resolve this issue, we suggest that you perform the steps below:

    Step 1: Run the troubleshooter for Windows apps using the link below. This will help remove problems with an app from Microsoft Store.

    Click here

    Step 2: Try to disable and re-enable the Game DVR on your computer.

    1. How to disable Game DVRRight-click the Start button.
    2. Click Settings.
    3. Click Gaming.
    4. Click Game DVR.
    5. Click the switch below Record in the background while I'm playing a game so that it turns Off.
    Note: Restart you computer before you enable the Game DVR again

    Step 3: Reset Xbox app settings.

    1. Click Start and click Settings.
    2. Select System.
    3. Select Apps & features.
    4. Find the Xbox app and click Advanced options.
    5. Click Reset. Restart your device so that the changes can take effect.

    Hi Rastigan,

    The only videos that are eligible for upload is if they have been recorded using the Game DVR, if a video is taken from Game DVR and edited externally, the Xbox App will recognize the file as external and not allow it to be uploaded.

    Longer Game DVR recordings

    A workaround to this is to broadcast your game play through twitch, which should archive the video if you turn on that option. Replay on your computer while using some sort of capturing program on you computer. Edit, upload and viola
    Well technicay twitch has am export feature, but this is a bad way of recording if you're playing a multiplayer game.
