Game DVR broken since update.

Hi,

Since the new Xbox Live Experience update, I have had problems with Game DVR not recording. The Start new clip and End clip are greyed out. I cannot start a recording. I checked the setting and tried a reset by holding down the power button for 10 seconds which
did not help. I briefly got it to work again by pressing the home button twice followed by X. Now it is not working again. Has anybody else had this problem and how did you resolve it?

Game DVR Since October Update

Hi,

I love my Xbox 1 S and use it every day. I particularly enjoy making videos of my gaming on the hardest difficulty settings and uploading the videos to Youtube. I feel proud of my achievements. Since the October update the functionality of game dvr has suffered.

I can no longer 'cancel' a video. This feature is important. I estimate that around sixty to seventy percent of my videos are fails whereupon my character dies and I must redo what I am attempting. In this situation I would 'cancel' the video so that it
DOES NOT save and then I can start over again. Currently only a 'stop' option is available for ending game dvr videos, whereby the video stops, saves, and must be manually deleted. This process is tedious and eats into my all important gaming time. Please
re-implement the 'cancel' option for game dvr. The previous option of hitting the guide button and then hitting the blue x button worked excellently.

When using Upload Studio I select particular filters. The filters are there for a reason; to filter and streamline interactions. When going into the current video I am making, doing some stuff, then selecting a second video to 'stitch' to the first one,
all filters disappear. This is frustrating and unnecessary. For whatever reason the Xbox cannot 'remember' my filters.

Thanks for giving us the option to make 1080p videos. It's great. However, 2 minutes is very short, too short. I would very much appreciate being able to make 5 minutes videos. Perhaps 1080 p could be at 5 mins and 720p at 10 minutes. I think this is a reasonable
request.

April Update Beta Issues

Since the March update I have been unable to record with Game DVR. But since getting the April preview I am unable to use Game DVR at all. I have done all suggested methods to resolve this but nothing has worked.

 

Having the same problem. Please somebody help! haha

 

This works however it only works if the game is started first...

Then you can use snap which will then show and not be greyed out.

The same applies to take a screenshot or record that

*Some games do not allow game DVR until you reach a certain screen but other than that, launch a game and while gaming double tap....if you see the options to record or take screenshot then you'll also see the options to snap game DVR and record

*always make sure your profile is assigned to the controller (it's actually possible to play a game by not have the profile assigned). I know...weird
