Game DVR and Xbox Live- running out of space?

I am running out of space on Xbox live for Game DVR videos. And even after deleting every video I've made in the past two years and just leaving the last month or so, the 'Manage captures' screen still says "Xbox Live storage 46% full". That's with about
20 videos, many of which are (admittedly) close to 5 minutes in length.

Note that I have a 2 TB physical disk which is 70% free, so this is not talking about local storage- this is the magical Xbox One cloud. What about all of the 'Xbox One gold members get unlimited cloud storage' hype from launch back in 2013? Was that all
so much PR water under the bridge i.e.: lies and weasel words?

And what if I want more storage? Can I pay for more? How?

I don't want to keep having to delete all of my DVR videos every time I want to record a new one. That feels incredibly... archaic, circa 1995.

Xbox One update: DVR requires Gold

Turns out the DVR feature will require to use, which I personally don't agree with

Xbox One's Game DVR function will require Xbox Live Gold membership

, minecraft ...

 

Just create a youtube account & upload your videos to that.

That way your videos are saved there & more people can see them.

 

Fair enough, Daft- and I'm doing that. But it seems as though the Xbox Live space allocation for videos is quite limited. Maybe 2 GB?

I'm running out of space just building up a collection to edit together as a summary/montage of my experiences in a game. I'd happily pay a few extra bucks a month to increase the storage, although frankly I'm a little frustrated by the apparent lack of
any information regarding what the actual limits are.

 

I'm in the same boat, if you will, without a paddle. I have a YouTube account, but it's for personal use, family. I'm a very private person and don't want to share all my gaming videos allong with my Xbox videos and i don't want to hassle with making another
account, not do i know how to make a second and have it link to the same email as my Xbox account is, which is already in use in the first one! Confusing, I know! I also thought we were supposed to have unlimited cloud storage with Gold, what happened to that?
I was just looking to see if there was a way to purchase more space as I really don't WANT to remove my captures! I haven't been gaming all that long, haven't created anything even remotely resembling a montage and have only recently began expanding my friends
list to this outside my personal "I've met you in real life" list. It's quite scary for me! I either want my UNLIMITED CLOUD STORAGE we were promised ite I want an option to buy more!
