Game DVR and Beam streaming

This is my first time actually posting something on any forum so idk where to put this.

Anyways, why can't you record a game clip or take a screenshot while your streaming through Beam? I know there's probably some technical reason why you can't, but I just seems a little unnecessary.

The reason I bring this up is because I was streaming while playing Battlefield 1 earlier today and I did probably the coolest thing I've ever done since I got the game, and I went to record it but there was no option to. So I stopped streaming and tried
again and there it was, the button to record a clip. But by that point it was already to late to record what I'd done.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? And does anyone know why it's like this?

I always wanted to stream on beam, but it always says an error occurred, anyone have any idea of how to fix this?

It's nice to see excitement for Beam streaming so hopefully we can get you going soon. What is the particular error code/message you get? When does the error occur? You can also take a peek at
Beam's Help section to see if anything there helps. Are you able to log into your Beam account on the
Beam site? Just want to be sure you can access your account there too.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. However, it is not possible to record a clip while streaming to a service from the console as the processor is working on streaming. However, you should head over to Beam.pro and set up the system to save your streams.
The service will save streams for 14 days so you can download and take whatever clips you need

 

Guessing power of X1 does not have any headroom for doing more than a game, depending on game I suppose.

I mean they struggle to support framrates up to 60 fps alone with game, not much power for anything else. some games even go down to 900p to get framrate.

Game DVR probably also need reservered memory to save clip of the max length set in setting, not powerful enough to save to disc while doing so many things.

As I understood GameDVR, it also put game into 1280x720p since this is what saves do. So the extra power left over can be used to save to memory, and not too much memory lost.

Scorpio will probably have headroom for more things, if doing 1080p at least.
