game drive format

So i formatted my 3TB seagate drive to my xbox so i could store games on it, but now i want to format it again so that i can use it on my computer but i cant find out how, The drive isnt listed in Devices and drives in file explorer.

Hi, when I face a similar issue with a drive I use HDD Low Level Format Tool.

Is useful for those cases, if the program doesn't respond after you perform the format. Sadly the drive is broken

I'm not sure what drive tool you're using, but it actually hasn't been possible to low level format a hard drive since the late 90's. Even if you were able to to do such a format, it would have more chance of destroying the drive rather than fixing it.

As for providing links to free software, you can do this, but, it's always a good idea to check said software first and provide a disclaimer stating that the software is not endorsed by Microsoft (If that's actually the case), and that it may contain potentially unwanted programs or software (known as a PUP). Basically at user's own risk.

i installed seatools but every time it tries to do something to the drive it either immediately cancels or cancels part of the way through

i already tried that, the disk is unknown, not initialized and unallocated and when i try to initialize the drive it turns itself off.

and yes im aware i cant do both i just want to use it on my computer

In that case you should go to the seagate support website and download the 'Seatools' application to check the drive.

Your drive can be formatted for Xbox or the computer, not both and play games from it
