Game downloads causing flashing at Windows startup.

I've been using Xbox Game Pass for PC since it first went into beta. It worked great that entire time. Recently, it was officially released and I decided the price increase wouldn't work for me, so I cancelled it. I was given a promotional offer of $1 for
3 months of Game Pass Ultimate, so I decided to start using game pass again. On 12/3/20, I downloaded Mudrunners. It ran fine, and everything seemed okay. The next day, when I turned on my PC, it continuously flashed when it got to the desktop screen. At first
I thought it might have something to do with my drivers. So I uninstalled and reinstalled them. Nothing changed. I realized that the problem started on the 4th, and the only thing I had changed on my PC the day before was install Mudrunners, so I uninstalled
it. That fixed the problem. I thought it might have been a problem with those particular game files. So I installed different games, thinking the problem was fixed. The problem returned. I uninstalled those games and the problem was fixed again.

I currently have a ssd and a hdd installed in my PC. I installed all of those games on my hdd, so to test it I installed multiple games on it through steam. This didn't have an effect. So it seems like the culprit is the Xbox app.

Has anyone else had this problem and have you found a fix for it?

    :)

Windows 10 Startup Flashing Taskbar after XBox Service Installed

    Hi

Did you read my post ?

"If you're on windows 11 steps are the same, you just need to download windows 11 ISO"
Look at the title of my post

"Windows 10 Startup Flashing Taskbar after XBox Service Installed"

Do you think I am using Windows 10 or 11 ? Generic messages to tell me to re-installs, that you hope will fix 95% of peoples problems are not you giving me support, they are simply fobbing me off.

I tried the SFC tool, and wouldn't you believe it, surprise surprise, just like the "windows troubleshooters", it did not fix anything. Lets look at the problem, when I disable a service for windows start up - by forcing the service to be manual and not auto, and then reboot, everything works perfectly.

Then when I put the service to auto - so that it starts at startup the symptoms occur.

Now, seeing as I am not the only one who has this problem, I would say its not my system, its the service starting up at Windows startup that is causing the problem. Yes, sounds like a bug in the storage service, or a consumer of the aforementioned service ie xbox. This is a simple, reproducible bug, that needs to be fixed. I would suspect its because the xbox games are not installed on the main drive, I have a hard link from the c:/users/myuser folder to a different hard drive to save space for backups etc, and the non system hard drive is not being started immediately on windows startup, so the startup of the Storage Service seems to be performing a synchronous poll waiting for it, rather than wait for an interrupt or something, the code is sitting in a refresh GUI mainloop waiting for the non system drive with the games installed on, to be available.

I turn off my console, the green light flashes, I turn off my tv, console turns back on.

As Sage to Rage stated the flashing power light is caused from the console saving to the HDD or downloading something from the xbox live marketplace.

To turn off background downloads you will need to:

-Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.

    -Select Console Settings.

    -Select Startup and Shutdown.

    -Select Background Downloads.

    -Select Disable.

-Select Yes to confirm the change.

GREEN LIGHT FLASHES AFTER TURNING OFF XBOX 360 S

This is due to cloud. If u want the the flashing lights to go away just disable cloud and then go to console settings then go to startup and shutdown then disable background downloads. The problem should go away.

    ERROR CODE E102 00000C01 80070003 since update

Scroll down to the E102 section of this support, System update solution startup error to assist resolving this
issue. You need a PC to download the OSU file to USB.

    To do this, you'll need:

    • A Windows-based PC with an Internet connection and a USB port.
    • A USB flash drive with a minimum 6 GB of space formatted as NTFS.

Most USB flash drives come formatted as FAT32 and will have to be reformatted to NTFS. Note that formatting a USB flash drive for this procedure will erase all files on it. Back up or transfer any files on your flash drive before
you format the drive. For information about how to format a USB flash drive to NTFS using a PC, see

How to format a USB flash drive to NTFS on Windows
    .

    1. Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
    2. Open the Offline System Update file
      OSU1
      .
    3. Click Save to save the console update .zip file to your computer.
    4. Unzip the file by right-clicking on the file and selecting
Extract all from the pop-up menu.
    5. Copy the $SystemUpdate file from the .zip file to your flash drive. The files should be copied to the root directory, and there shouldn't be any other files on the flash drive.
    6. Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.
    7. Continue to the next step to complete the update on your console.

my xbox 360 downloaded Forza Horizon but about five minutes into the game it would give me the disc unreadable error i downloaded it onto a 1 tb flash drive i just recieved can you help?

    Hi Asher M,

I think the best solution is to buy a legitimate flash drive. The problems you are experiencing may be due to the fact that the flash drive you have is fake or is experiencing failures.

If the flash drive is fake, it may not have the real storage capacity that it indicates. This could cause problems when downloading and installing games, as the game may not fit on the flash drive. Additionally, fake games are often infected with malware, which could damage your computer.

If the flash drive is experiencing failures, it may not be able to write or read data reliably. This could cause problems when saving your game progress or loading the game.

Of course, it is possible that the flash drive you have is not fake and is not experiencing failures. However, given that the problems you are experiencing are common in fake or defective flash drives, I believe it is better to be safe than sorry.

As for your question about whether a fake flash drive could affect the game, the answer is yes. If the flash drive is fake or is experiencing failures, it could cause problems with the game's performance or even cause the game to crash.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help.

    Best regards,
    Vanessa.
