Game downloads cancel completely when is Xbox turned off

I’ve been trying to install a game and later turned my Xbox off to go to bed and in the morning I realized that the game wasn’t even downloaded or still downloading in my games and apps and queue, so I started to download the game again and the same thing happened, I don’t know why the download is cancelling every time I turn my Xbox off and it’s getting frustrating because the game size is large and my wifi isn’t the best so it’s frustrating have wasting a whole day downloading the game and it being a complete waste of time, my xbox has never done this but… on a completely different topic, around two weeks ago my external hard drive stopped working I’ve tried pretty much everything on it and gave up. Could these two problems have something to do with each other? Another thing I should bring up is the fact I tried plugging the hard drive back in a few days ago from not trying for a good couple days and it worked… until I turned my Xbox off and all my games on the hard drive were gone again which makes me think these incidents are related to each other because of the similarities.

For the game downloads cancelling when the Xbox is turned off, make sure automatic downloads is active and the "storage turned off when xbox is off" is unchecked in the Xbox settings. Check for updates on the console as well.

You can also try powercycling the console as that has fixed this issue for some users.

The external hard drive may be failing, and if that is the case you may need to purchase a new one. Try installing the game directly to the console and see if the problem still occurs after you have confirmed those settings are on and the powercycling is tried.

If the problem persists after that, you can report it on your console.

Yes my Xbox is turn off when it download

And I don't try to uninstall or cancel the download but I'm stop it for a minutes

Yes, I had the background download feature switched to on. When I have it switched on, it only has that green flashing light on for just three seconds then it completely turns off to where it stops the download. When the background download feature is off,
after turning it off it just turns off completely.

I don't see how cancelling a CD install would remove the entire download/installation queue but anything is possible when it comes to tehcnology. Turning the console off whilst having games queued for downloading should make no difference...I frequently add games to the queue and then turn my Series X off and they are all installed when I turn it back on the next day

Let's try cancelling the download completely if you haven't already. Once it's cancelled, give your Xbox One a full power cycle by holding down the power button for 8-10 seconds until it turns off. Once you power it back on, try starting the download again.
