Game disks no longer readable by console

So I was playing a game with the disk in, and switched games after killing the original game from the home screen. The new game disks would not be read by the console, even though it was previously installed. I did perform the switching to energy saver mode
and hard reset, while allowed the new game to be read, however upon switching back to my original game I now can't play that or any other disk games that I own. What is the issue here?

I am trying to move an installed game

No, you can't move an installed game from one console to another. They are encoded for the original console.

You'd have to borrow or rent another, readable copy to do the installation on on the new console, if your unreadable disk is readable enough to work with an installed image.

DISK NOT READABLE

Using a can of air to spray into the xbox is not recommended as the air pressure could damage the console.

If this is happening with other games as well then unfortunately your console might need servicing

None of my discs play, or my disc isn’t recognized when I insert it

Try the following solutions if none of your discs will play, or if you insert a disc and your console doesn't recognize it. If your Xbox Home screen tells you to insert a disc when a disc is already inserted, that means it doesn't recognize your disc. In
these scenarios, there are two possible issues:

The settings for Instant-On power mode can render a small number of consoles unable to read discs.

The console's disc drive needs servicing.

Solution 1: If you use Instant-On power mode, change power modes and power cycle the console

Here's how:

Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

Go to Settings.

Select All Settings.

Select Power.

Select Power mode.

Select Energy saving.

Perform a "hard power cycle" by holding down the console's power button for 10 seconds. Once the console has completely shut down, press the power button again to restart it.

Try your disc again. Wait a few seconds to see if the console recognizes it. If the console can now read the disc, you can revert back to Instant-On power mode.

Follow the above steps if the problem happens again.

Solution 2: Request a repair

If the previous solution didn't fix the issue, your console will need a repair. Go to the

Xbox uses a different file format than the PC so an external disk on the console is not readable by the PC
