    Game discs not starting on Xbox Series X


    So I got a Series X for Christmas. However there seems to be a problem. I put in Mass Effect Legendary Edition to test out the smart delivery enhancements, but nothing happened. Took it out and put in Witcher 3, same thing. Put in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, same thing. The games I have digitally seem to be working just fine. What could be causing this problem? Restarting and doing a hard reset does not work. Would my having the console in its side instead of vertical have something to do with it? Do I need to send it in to be repaired?

    Nope, just inserted the disc into my Xbox Series X and started the download.

    In iran finding xbox series x discs game is so hard and rarely you can find discs. The xbox 1 discs is alot. But series x discs u can't find. I don't know why?

    NO! Unlike some games that have an Xbox One version that will upgrade to the the S|X version if you put it in a series X, NBA2K for S|X is a complete different version than the Xbox One version and it will not work if you put the disc inside of an Xbox One. Xbox One cannon run a Series X game and putting a Series X disc inside an X1 will not install the X1 version.

    series x has disc drive and the series s does not

    smart delivery is so it downloads the content for the specific console

    hence why the game case has series x and xbox one advertised on it. the disc can be used in series x and xbox one consoles, the series s does not have a drive therefore requires digital purchase.

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    For a digital copy, the Game Borderland The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is not listed on the backward compatibility games. So you wont be able to play the game on Series X.

    If you have an Xbox 360 Disc for the game then you should be able to play it on the Series X

    The Xbox Series X can play game discs from the original Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. For movies, it can play DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, and Ultra HD Blu-ray Discs—you just need to download the Blu-ray Player app from the Store app on your Xbox Series X to be able to play those discs.

    To insert a disc: With the Xbox Series X in the vertical position, insert the disc so that the top side (with the cover art) is facing the left edge. If the Xbox Series X is in the horizontal position (with the power button in the top right), insert the disc face up.
