    Game Discs not inserting into console


    My Xbox one console has recently just stopped accepting discs and if I try to insert a disc in it does not pull it in and I don’t want to force a disc into the drive have restarted it But nothing, used to work per perfectly fine. Help

    There is no officially supported cleaning kit for the console, no. Are you certain it got smudged inside the console? Have you since tried inserting clean discs into the console, playing them, and then checking when you remove them?

    "Insert Disc" message on game discs when waking console from Standby mode

    Most of my Xbox One games are digitally however I recently received a game on disc and I have been able to play it several times.

    I've noticed that if I wake the console in standby mode and then insert the game disc, the disc doesn't seem to spin up and the 'insert disc' message stays on the dashboard. If I perform a full shut down of the console and then reboot it and eject and re-insert the disc, the disc spins up and the game boots without any problem.

    I have not noticed any loud 'crunching' or 'grinding' noises when I insert the disc and the disc looks pretty much brand new. My console is running the latest version of the preview dash however this error was there before my most recent dash update on Saturday so I don't think that is the direct cause.

    Does anyone know if this is a common problem caused by software or does it sound like a console hardware fault?

    Holding the disc is the ONLY WAY the console plays any disc, if I insert it normally sends a message saying that is not a game disc. When I insert a music CD it is normal, when I insert a DVD it is normal, I got to do the holding thing only for games.

    Can Xbox One game discs be used by other people?

    Yes, the disc will work on different consoles, but to play the game the disc has to be inserted so multiple consoles cannot play the same game with only 1 disc.

    What does that symbol warning and the Disc mean ?

    Hi Steezzy. My name is Kyle and I'm an independent advisor.

    The symbol means that the disc for this game isn't inserted in your console. If you insert the game disc the symbol will disappear and the game will be playable.

    Yes all disc games need the disc inserted in the console to play them. It's proof of licence.

    Disregard after a console reboot and disc re inserted. The games were recognized from discs and installed.
