Game developers offering exclusive content only on one console is really just hurting the ...

Do you agree? I mean if I make a gameand then sell out by offering certain content only one platform, is it really worth the extra money up front if it could cause backlash by the excluded gamer in the end. I wish the trend would stop...or Microsoft
to just grow a pair and finally get some of their "exclusives" It's pretty sad when the company you built. Bungie, is now giving the former fow the upper hand in a complete year plus of exclusivity. What a slap in the face to the company and of the gamer
community that helped make you the company you are today and fill your pockets for a decade. Is loyalty to the gamer really gone these days??

Why exactly does Xbox need to act as a liason between developers and gamers? Developers have open relationships with gamers via forums and social media.

As far as the Xbox One not having games, maybe it doesnt have the games you want to play. Ive got plenty to play and even more coming. But like you mention in your original post, I would rather developers take extra time to decress bugs then to rush out
trash.

And lastly about "console favortism" clearly you didnt read my post. Xbox gets exclusive content as well, just not for Destiny. Just because the content isnt for games you care about or want does not mean the Xbox doesnt get favored with certain developers.

I guess they can't change it. It looks like they have contract already with some developers and publishers. They offer console with blocked pre-owned games & online requirment! And developers give them exclusive games!

PS4 = for gamers

and

Xbox one = for developers

I get to play Destiny in a month from now,and can't wait. I couldn't care less about one or two timed exclusive strikes. If Bungie felt they needed to do that to get PS owners to buy their game then so be it. It won't affect my enjoyment of the game on Xboxone
a tiny bit. Less time ranting more time playing is my tip.

I agree with Harra doe. I don't really care about the exclusive content. I'm gonna be enjoying Destiny with friends and everyone is gonna have a good time!

 

So far, I haven't seen any exclusive content that makes a difference, but the exclusive content in Destiny is upping the ante a little with the timed exclusive maps, if we continue to see each console pushing the boundary then we could see gamers losing
in the end.

 

All the complaining of timed exclusives is a complete slap in the face. Don't like it boycott the game like the rest of the complainers and be done with it. Vote with your wallet and be done. I am going to enjoy the game on my Xbox regardless of platform
"Timed" exclusivity.

I've never really understood the point of making exclusive content for mutiplatform games. The only time that this (exclusive content for a specific console) made sense was for Soul Calibur 2.

The Original Xbox got Spawn, PS2 got Heiachi, and Nintendo Gamecube got Link.

I don't recall you creating a thread "complaining" about this practice when the 360 got Skyrim DLC before anyone else, or any of the Call of Duty map packs before the competition.

We hear about developers going out of business all the time. This is an easy/cheap way for them to make some extra money. I don't see the problem in that.

 

Its not as if we will never get the dlc. Be more upset about stuff that actually matters. Like an entire game being platform exclusive and what could be done to change that.

 

If we didn't have exclusive content, competition for sales would decline and it would allow for things like price gouging and/or fixed prices...

 

I think this is good. Good for publishers and developers because they get a paycheck. This is a business. And it is a business that we the consumers are passionate about. If you want to see a studio strive you want to see them get exclusive contracts
for DLC or games (in my opinion). To many Publishers, and Development Studios are closing. Granted this doesn't always help (See CryTek). But often times it can be beneficial (See Epic, Ubisoft, EA).

Competition is good. Fight for DLC and Games.
