Game Data lost in Halo infinite without notice

For second time in one month, I have lost the progress in the Halo Infinite campaign: After being playing normally several days, I turn on the console and the data from the previous campaign is gone, nothing is there, so the only option available is to start over again from the beginning. I don't think this is normal, nor expectable from a game like Halo Inifinite. I am not willing to start again the campaign just to lost the progression randomly some day... Is there any solution for this behavior?

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

I apologize for the trouble. I have checked the HALO known issue page and one of the listed from there is:

"Progress earned in a save file can be inadvertently overwritten or, in some cases, corrupted by forcing Halo Infinite to close during active gameplay and then loading a different save file on the next launch.

To avoid this issue, do not use close the game via outside methods (such as Task Manager on PC or powering off the PC/console) while in active Campaign gameplay. Use the pause menu to return to the main menu then close Halo Infinite as preferred."

This is related to the issue that you're experiencing and to help you, for cases like this what we initially need to do is to quit the game and perform power cycle in that way once you launch the game your in-game data will just re-sync.

Kindly quit the game and follow the steps below before you re-launch the game.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

Hi, I had the same issue and I followed these instruction on this website. Works perfect for me now.

Having trouble booting up Halo Infinite via Game Pass on PC? Is the installer telling you to download Gaming Services but not actually giving you an option to do so? This step-by-step fix will get you back into that challenge grind in no time. To get around the Gaming Services issue you simply need to reset the Halo Infinite app:

1. Press Windows + I

2. Navigate to Apps > Halo Infinite > Advanced Options

3. Click Reset (DATA WONT BE DELETED)

The Xbox app will tell you that Halo Infinite's data has been deleted but this doesn't actually happen. Simply start up the Xbox app again, find Halo Infinite, and click the install button. The game files are still in place and the app will recognize that you own the product.

Hopefully this works for you guys.

Hi, same issue here noticing it on every game and especially true for halo infinite as I've just checked. Hope Microsoft acknowledge and fix this issue.
