Game data deleted after most recent xbox one update

I haven't used my Xbox One for approximately 3 months and just now when I plugged it in and signed on it automatically updated like it has done in the past. Once the update was complete I selected Forza Horizon 3 (which I have spent hundreds upon hundreds
of hours collecting all the nicest vehicles) only to find all of the game data was gone and the game was having me start from the beginning.

I tried going onto Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and again same thing, no game data (again played hundreds upon hundreds of hours and payed for some extra content).

I went through the steps on the xbox assist such as doing a hard restart while unplugging the external hard drive, no luck. Removing my profile and re-adding it; didn't help. Nothing wrong with my network and I've never had any issues other than this
one right now. I'm a die hard Microsoft fan but this issue is very upsetting!!

Short of wasting dozens of hours of my time uninstalling and reinstalling each game one by one, is there anything else that can be done to recover my data?

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently experiencing difficulties with recovering the save data on your account.

Typically, your save data is automatically stored using the
Cloud storage. This process happen when you launch the game and whenever you close the game after your are done.

Did you receive any error messages at all when you were attempting to launch the game after the update? Some multiplayer games store date in remote servers, so even if you delete your save data, you would only be losing progress in any offline modes in-game.

However, once data is lost or deleted, there is no way to recover that save data once more. There is an article that I will link

here that covers sync errors, if you were prompted with any of the error messages in that article, perhaps you can use the troubleshooting techniques there to resolve it.

The linked article in this is absolutely your best bet here. All save data is backed up to, and restored from cloud storage as long as you’re connected to the internet. Unless you’ve manually cleared all save games from your cloud storage, it should still
all be there regardless to what’s happened on your local console.

Weird result. When I pulled the HDD, the Xbox couldn't even connect to download the update. Deleting update data from the USB & flash storage did nothing, the 360 wouldn't connect period.

Reinserted the HDD and found that it didn't help at all. My 360 still wouldn't connect with uPnP active, even after deleting the update data (which had worked before). I had to disable uPnP and get the Xbox 360 to connect / download the update under strict
NAT and then re-enable uPnP afterwards.

Since doing that, deleting the update data has started working again to get myself reconnected.

It isn't really feesible for me to update to a later version of miniupnpd. 1.8.1 is the most recent version released for IP Fire through their release channel.

I've also deleted the most recent update and it has been re-installed. Still no go after "Dolby".
