Game crashing when a player joins

The crashing or freezing of a certain game/apps is generally related to the network which is why I will provide you with the official link to all the troubleshooting steps that can help sort this out for you. Before going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned on the link I was referring to, I would like you to go through the following steps to clear your Mac address and perform a quick power cycle:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

After going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned, I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 2 to 3 minutes, re-plug them back again, then restart your console.

In case the issue still persists, the next step would be to perform a reset on the console. To do so you will need to follow the steps below to perform a reset on the Xbox :

Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

We can invite each other but unable to join and it usually says unable to join player or in some cases the game crashes for the person who tries to join.

I have the exact same problem and I found out that my problem was related to having a hub hooked up. Once I took the USB hub out everything worked flawlessly.

Edit: I was using a 2.0 USB hub and it just crashes as soon as anyone tries to log in at all besides the first player. I tried this again with a USB 3.0 hub and it allowed me to sign in one player it on the hub the first time and crashed when the second
hub player joined. then on the second attempt it crashed when the first hug player tried to join. After removing the hub again, everything went back to working flawlessly with 2 and 3 players. This is 100% for sure an issue with hubs and using wired controllers.

I'm having the same issue, as well. It's not very fun, but to get past the Pirate level your kids are stuck on one will have to play it alone, immediately after leaving the room with Metal Beard another can join and play without many issues.

There is one other crashing bug that I encounter in the game, it is during one of the end fights with Lord Business in Bricksburg. The game always crashes when two players are fighting the boss and have to smash his legs. It always crashes there, but I am
sure a single player can get past that as well.

I am having the same issue as lxf12.... when coming off the pirate ship, the 1st player is the robot and the 2nd player cant play. It says press any key to join but nothing happens and when emmitt does his drilling it crashes and goes to the language screen...
how do I fix this?
