Game crashes to dashboard

I have the same issue as others on this forum. I start Destiny, crashed to dashboard.

I haven't played much, only a lvl 4. I went to play last night, it kept freezing, eventually said I have an updated, downloaded the update, now instant crash to the dashboard when I try to open the game.

I've tried resetting my router, clearing alternate mac address, unplugging, holding power for 10 seconds, etc.

All other games play just fine.

If I uninstall the game and re-install, will my character info be lost? I'm not sure how the info is stored, locally or on their servers.

Try doing a hard reset by holding the power button on the front of the console until it turns off then unplug it from the outlet for 30 seconds then plug back in and power back on. Hopefully this should help resolve the issue.

every time i purchase a new game, i download it, trying to launch it and it kicks me back to the dashboard, it happened with DR 3 cd, Call of Duty Ghosts gold edition i purchased from the xbox online store and Titanfall, these three games somehow sorted
out i dont know how, but now i bought Shadow Of Mordor, and it keeps crashing to the dashboard, i tried all the methods i could find:

1.Power cycle - both methods

2. Clear Persistent Storage

3.Re installing the game

4.Restore the Xbox to factory settings and re download everything

5. i even contacted WB support and MS support and got a refund for the game because they said that maybe the one i downloaded was somehow corrupted and then i bought it again but still no good...

Microsoft support really dont help me out they keep blaming the other companies for making bad games and send me to their support forums...

if anyone has a possible solution for me it will be very very helpful, eversince i bought the xbox all i got was a headache...

Your characters and saved data are store din the cloud. Try power cycling it again.

Press and hold power button until power turns off. Unplug the power cord from the console (has to be from the console). Let it sit for 1 minute then turn it back on with the console power button. See if that works if not then try the uninstall/install.

 

I haven't tried the combo of hold power button to power off, then unplug, then power on. I'll try that tonight, thanks.

 

My friend tried the hard reset over and over. Finally I convinced him to clear up some hard drive space as this was the only difference between me and him. He was at 98.5% capacity (no external) he cleared up 100Gb and did the hard reset again, game booted
with no problems after.

 

I only have like 30% used.

I did uninstall and then reinstall. That took overnight to download stuff basically, even on my 50mb connection.

This morning, it loads, installed an update, verified, again, the install, then said servers are down, what a mess
