Game crashes or freezes

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a Xbox and the Witcher 3.

Ever since I have been experiencing a lot of :

- game crashing and going back the dashboard

- game freezing and having to restart the xbox

- sound glitches ingame : very loud screeching and echoing noise or just no sound at all, the game freezing not long after most of the time

The Xbox is up to date and the game too (experienced the glitches on vanilla version, 1.12 and 2.12). I have found no similar experience of Xbox users for the Witcher 3 online so I presume it does not come from the game (after a year these kind of bugs would
have been reported and fixed). It does not seem to happen at specific moment during the game.

Power cycling the console seems to prevent the glitches in a way. When I can play 30mn straight without crashing I am happy. It is less when I do not power cycle.

Fyi the Xbox is not on instant-on.

Next step is reformatting the console and reinstalling the game but I do not put too much hope in it. I guess I will have to get the guarantee working.

- Where/When did you buy your console?

- Does it freeze or crash during games? You gotta be specific.

Sounds like most of the troubleshooting you've done involved the box itself. Before going for a whole console reset have you attempted uninstalling just that game and reinstalling? If this is the only game you're having issues with this might be something
worth trying.

 

Same thing happened to me. Uninstalling the game power cycling the Xbox and rediwnlaoding tbe game worked for me.

 

Hey guys thanks for your feedback. I did reinstall the game but it crashed after 10/15mn again. I will go for a console reset this weekend keep you posted. Have a nice weekend

 

It's possible that the game save could be corrupted but that shouldn't crash the entire game. You can try removing the game save from the console and see any differences. My games and apps - What ever game you have issues with - Menu button - Manage game
- saved data that may be worth a try but no guarantees.

Usually game crashes is when the game encounters a error which it cannot resolve usually re-downloading the game should resolve it but clearly it isn't so resetting the console is the appropriate action you should take if what i typed out above doesn't help

Thanks for your answer. I did started a new game after reinstalling and resetting and still getting the crash...

I contacted the support and they want me to try another game to see if I get the same crashes as well. I am also supposed to receive an email with instructions but I am still waiting for it...
