Game Crash to Home Regardless of Game

Way too often recently, no matter what game I start, it crashes to the home screen and will not start. The only way to fix this is a hard power cycle (Holding the power button until shut off - I use instant on mode so a simple tap won't do) rather than
turning off via the OS. I feel this has to be a bug that needs squashed. Hope this report helps.

Why do xbox one games crash so often?

I am a long time video game player, and I am well aware that all system crash every now and again, however, my xbox regularly closes the game and resorts back to the home screen. For absolutely no reason, regardless of game, the xbox crashes very frequently.
I don't know if its software issues or not but it wouldn't be the individual games because the issue persists regardless of title I am playing, and it shouldn't be hardware issues because it is still relatively new. Why are xbox's so prone to game crashes,
and why in comparison to other consoles, like the 360 or competitor consoles like PS, does the xbox suffer from such a vast amount of technical issues?

Well its fixed, Not sure what did it... I started with your fix #1... I changed it to English-USA (which it already was in) and then I hit restart now... the system locked up so I unplugged the console, waited a few seconds and plugged it back in. Once it
booted back up I started a game and it worked. As far as I am concerned you are a genius and thank you for hour help BigWoODoO

 

I'm having the exact same problem and it's becoming very annoying very quickly

 

Yep, same here. It's at the point where if a game actually starts without me having to power cycle, I'm surprised.

 

Just now, happened again. For diagnostic help, here's what I did leading up to it.

1 - Started console from cold boot (after this happening last time)

2 - Started Twitch and watched for a bit

3 - Started Titanfall and snapped Twitch

4 - Broadcaster finished, I unsnapped Twitch

5 - Batteries were running low on my Astro Wireless A40s, so unplugged headset adapter from controller and plugged in standard headset

6 - Realized I could still use the A40s in stereo mode with the adapter, plugged that back in and used the A40s through the controller without the MixAmp

7 - Xbox Live took a crap and Titanfall lagged to hell, and then I couldn't get logged in to play any longer

8 - Opened Twitch again for a while

9 - Decided to play Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare

10 - Xbox told me to take a hike and wouldn't start it, or any other app now

11 - "Xbox, Turn Off. Yes"

12 - Powered back on

13 - Same symptoms

14 - Held power button until console powered off

15 - Powered back on

16 - Issue resolved

 

This issue started happening after the recent update in February. I purchased my Xbox One on 2/10/14 and the system update wasn't a week later and that's when I noticed the issue. The reason why power cycling by pressing the power button on the console works
is because it clears the system cache as well as completely resets the system.
