Game crash has broken my Xbox

I recently started playing pubg again after an extended break.it's basically the only game I play, when I do game, I know it has its gameplay issues and crashed and know very well how frustrating that has been, but it is also highly addictive.

So I started playing it again this week and the crashes seem to be quite bad again which is very disappointing, but last night it crashed so badly mid game that my Xbox completely froze up, the Xbox button wasn't working on my controller and I had to hard
restart the console.

Since then my console had behave strangely, things seem clunky, lags on menus and nearly all my pins and icons on the home screen are blank or display holder type images rather than app images and alike.

It feels like that crash has somehow ruined my Xbox, is that possible?

I've put up alot with that game buy this is really upsetting.

I've tried hard resetting a few times.

Is there a way pubg or xbox can replace the console?

Im not gonna buy a new one as its a few years old and I'm waiting for the newer ones to come out

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to hopefully get your game and console running as they should. I can definitely see how this issue could be distressing. I read in your post that you had tried a couple of things already during the
process of troubleshooting, including hard resetting the console.

By any chance are you familiar with a soft factory reset?

It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

When you get the chance, follow the steps here on How to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One and
let us know how that helps with the issue

Same here .. update has broken the game... Xbox 360 loading screen crashes and back to main home screen... Does MS see this?

Yes we need help. 8 games today and the game has crashed 4 times. DMZ is broken.

yip my system is broken ever sinse the new update and dashboard over 20 power cycles now as my Xbox locks up freezes and crashes games crash the usb TV wont work properly and crashes you tube and apps glitch the list goes on and
on never in my Xbox life have I had to physically power cycle my Xbox multiple times a day grrrrrr They have broken my Xbox starting to regret my pre order of the Xbox one x Is it to late to cancel
