    "Game couldn't start, please try downloading game again" GTA5 from Xbox Live


    I downloaded GTA V from Xbox Live, On Demand two days ago. Installed both the compatibility patches and all the DLC content. The game will run for a short time but during a transition or cut-scene it will just stop and display "the game couldn't start,
    try downloading game again" (no error code).

    I originally had purchased this title with the physical disks while using a different 360 console but the play disc was damaged so I just stopped playing. Now I have a new console and just decided to purchase and download it again.

    Things I have already tried.

    -Deleted and re-downloaded game and all content 3x

    -transferred all licenses to new console

    -Deleted and reinstalled most recent console update

    -Cleaned system cache

    I am at a loss and can only find really old posts mentioning a similar issue but no resolution. Please help!

    I just bought the game Fuzion Frenzy from the xbox live. Downloaded the game just fine, but when I try to play the game, i got this message: Game Error- The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again.

    XBOX 360 game compatibility update won't show up

    Yes it says "The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again"

    I'd try contacting phone support--there may be a problem with your account.

    That's a good one for the phone support team, most likely it's related to your storage device and a format may not have been enough if it's failing.

    Like I said, I'd call support. It may be the end for the memory unit - not necissarily the console itself.

    The actual message is "the game couldn't start. please try downloading the game again" I have never downloaded the game as we have the disc which was brand new out of the box.
