Game continues to play in background.

When I am finished playing a game and return to the main screen, the game continues in the background. When I go back to playing, the game is still active. This will even happen after shutting down the console. I turn it back on and the game is still running.
The only way for me to reload a game is to start a new one or unplug the console! Is there a way to set things so the game will close and will reloaded when restarted? How am I supposed to reload a game that is glitching?

Media Player problem (Xbox One) - Error "Try a different folder"..."It took a long time to gather all your media for playback." "Please try a different folder."

I am having the same issue as well. I have my Xbox pointed to my video library to stream videos. It can definitely play the movies, however the error message pops up and my movie continues to play in the background.

Disc Unreadable Issue

Starting very recently, when attempting to play certain games on my console I'm getting a disc unreadable error when trying to do certain actions within the game.

However, the game continues on in the background perfectly fine. I would imagine that if the disc was in fact unreadable, that the disc wouldn't continue to read, but it does. Cut-scenes continue to play flawlessly, combat continues between my now
immobile player and the bad guys, etc.

I'm worried, is this a console issue or are my discs in fact unreadable and they magically continue on their own?

The game running in the background and reloading is a feature of the Xbox One. If you would like to disable this you can go to Settings > Power & Startup > Quick Resume

Thanks for the suggestion McShoop! I did discover something I didn't know before I saw your answer though. All I had to do was go to the tile with the game running, press the menu button and choose Quit. I really think Xbox should add to the display on the
main screen to press the menu button for more options! I would have never gone through this frustration!

You know you do not need the beta app open when playing games, you can close it if you want, and your games will continue to download and install in the background.

There are quite a few apps, that allow you to stream music and play in the background. Groove will do from your OneDrive and others will allow you to steam from a media server on your network as well. These will play in the background so you can continue
to play your games while music plays.

Copying to the hard disk though isn't really supported.

When I put the game in for the first time it started to download the update and install the game. I was waiting to party up with a friend and it took about 20 minutes before I was able to play the game (and when I started playing I'm pretty sure that the
game continued installing in the background).

Game continues to play in background.
