    Game clips not recording


    I am having an issue where I attempt to record gameplay via the Share button on the controller. I get a notification pop up on screen saying "gameclip recorded" but when I check recent captures, there is nothing.

    I have an Xbox Series S, I have captures set to save internally at 720p 3 mins max. I have checked the upload queue and nothing shows up there either. I have saved captures before but now suddenly, I cannot. The game I most recently tried to clip was CoD Warzone (a game I have recorded clips in prior).

    Console and controller are up-to-date, I have adjusted clip settings repeatedly, button mapping, restarted console, power cycled console, and had even done a full console reset a little awhile ago (before this issue for a different, unrelated one).

    Are there more steps I can try to resolve this? I tried searching online but found nothing relevant. Please help. TIA

    Doesnt record that just record a small snapshot and the game dvr record the longer clips ?

    "Record That" Without Kinect

    You can record clips without using the Kinect - simply snap the game dvr app, choose to start or end a clip, the amount of time to record (up to 5 minutes), then it records. It's easy! You can't record a voice-over or show a clip of your face, but the ability
    to record without the Kinect IS there. It actually surprises me how many people don't realize it.

    I understand you need help on your game clip recording.

    Just a heads up that recording game clips and using the internal storage device most especially at higher resolution will only record shorter clips. If you want to record longer clips, I suggest using an external storage like a flash drive or external hard drive.

    Xbox captures not recording correctly

    In most cases, capturing allows the creation of clips up to 5 minutes in length. At times, you may find that your clip is shorter than anticipated. There are a few reasons why this may happen:

    • Time spent outside the game is removed from the clip. For example, if you back out of the game to the Home screen while recording, the time on the Home screen will not make it into the clip.
    • Publishers may disable the recording of certain game segments for several reasons that may include, but are not limited to:
      • Potential game spoilers
      • Views of a player or players in the game seen through their Kinect
    • Capturing records clips at 720p, 30 frames per second. For most games, this resolution will allow a clip of approximately 5 minutes. Clips with significant graphic intensity or action may be shorter, as duration is sacrificed to maintain a high-quality
      recording.
