game chat problems

I have a Xbox one S and for some reason the microphone won't work on the game chat feature I've tried just about everything still no results Even after a few hours with Xbox support untill my phone battery died and couldn't solve the problem, at one point I came to a page that said game chat talk to text is unsupported . and I have never been able to get back to that point I know other Xbox one consoles that it works on I've tried 3 controllers 3 headsets And the high $$ adapter that plugs in the controller I can hear every thing fine throu the headset and tv but the microphone just won't work .. all volumes at max all turned on. that me and xbox support could find I'm beginning to think its the console software needs somthing that supports it but nothing in the store works or helps,, Is there a repair program that I can download to a flash drive that can help.. I think I've done all I can short of buying a new console Thank you

thank You Francia I did as you suggested but even before I got very far where Its suppose to say, Xbox live privacy, It just says , Xbox privacy then in the first box after communication & multiplayer ,,,It says ,,,,,This WILL NOT enable communication .. and after doing everything anyway Just cause It was the process,, , and after completing the power cycle TWICE I did the whole thing again .. and trying to chat with friends , It failed to do so, I still cannot speak to friends thou, they can speak to me and I hear them through the headset I thank you for your help and suggestions, but I failed to change anything, It flat out said This will not enable communication and I find it strange that I did not say ( Xbox live privacy ) , Just , ( Xbox privacy ) and offered no live anything, or how get xbox live ,thou I know I have it cause I use it everyday I just can't talk to my friends I'm playing with thou they 'er talking to me while we play, Its frustrating when everyting is working and all turned on and volumes up and still can't be heard or communicate with others It's as if it was left out of the programming on softwear cause it says itself game chat to text is not supported . So is there anything else that might help me to enable communication on this Xbox one S Thank you again for your help ,,, PS and my account shows I paid for the Xbox live so that is not a problem,,, Sincerely,,, Frustrated,,,, Coy O.

Manually changing the TCP ports isn't the answer if it was working just a few weeks ago and now it doesn't

I'm having the issue that just started this week. I can't hear anyone anymore. I'm not sure what changed because I never had this problem before. Was there an update in the past two weeks?

This is happening to me on every online game too.It is also happening to people on the gaming forum GameFAQS, & my future brother-in-laws chat and he's in the same house.Unfortunately Mister Quimby, that is not a permanent fix.I updated my router, shut off
both the modem, router, held the power button for 5 seconds & unplugged my console for a little over 5 minutes, & it just temporarily fixes the issue, and even when it's "fixed" I can only hear certain people, and I can see other people's chat icon light up,
but I don't hear them, yet everyone else does.

Within a few matches or so, it starts doing the same thing.It either does one of the few things.....It will either show people talking & I can't hear anyone, I unplug my mic, plug it back in, & it doesn't show that I'm talking at all, I can only hear certain
people, but can't hear my future Brother-in-law, none of it works yet Party chat does, or nothing at all does......We both even went out of our way thinking it was our headsets (the ones that come with every Xbox One) & exchanged them for a new one at gamestop,
only to still have the same issue....There has to be some xbox live issue with chat going on here......
