    It's been nearly a year now of my game chat not working, for any game I play when I start it up. I've tried every troubleshoot I've ever been told and the only one that occasionally works is clearing alt MAC address- but I don't want to have to restart
    my whole console just to use game chat that was working fine for so long ? controller is up to date, parties work fine- multiple mics have been tested and all work fine, it's not my privacy settings because they're custom to be as public/least restrictive
    as possible so like what do i do lmao

    I realize my Xbox day one edition controller doesn't work with the headset. But when plugged into the second controller bought at game stop it works on there. Also when I hit the down button on the D pad it makes a loud spring sound.

    Make sure you have game chat is on becuase people can hear you but not them or it may even be a settings in your xbox. Just a couple things to check.

    mine is the opposite I can hear people but my mic wont light up at all, yes mute is off and in party party is turned on i dunno...

    That happened to me. My NAT was strict go to network settings and see if ur NAT is open or strict then troubleshoot by testing multiplayer connection after test hold both triggers and bumbers then wait for it to show NAT info
