Game chat in campaign?

Stupid question - I have only been playing campaign to get the hang of the game mechanics but I have not yet heard anyone chatting. Is there no game chat in campaign or am I only playing with folks not using headsets? Thanks all.

Kinect game chat

Was watching a live stream of Ghosts on Twitch and the guy quit after one game.

He had his headphones in. . and we the viewers could hear chat and game audio . . but his Kinect wasn't showing up in Ghosts. He connected his chat mic to the controller and then the viewers couldn't hear, and he had to remove his headphones so wasn't doing that. Couldn't figure out a way to sort it out so he quit.

People were saying 'PREFERENCES!!!!!!' in the chat but he never went into it so maybe the option is in there somewhere - he was in Sound options and did have the Kinect Microphone box ticked.

I noticed that last night too. I didn't have my headset on, but noticed even in the lobbies that no ones speaker icon was lighting up. Usually you will hear someone cough or clear their throat or something even if they aren't chatting.

 

Ok, I was wondering the same thing and if my headset was't working after the update because it's dead silent. Not getting any beeps when adjusting volume either. I guess I need to try the "Classic" mode and see if anyone's talking there.

 

I played for 6 hours and thought my headset was messed up or something, but I could see that my speaker was coming on. Finally, I heard one guy talk in my game. I have been playing in "classic" the whole time. It just seems like nobody is talking in the
games I've been playing.

 

No, it's most likely just people not talking. It may be the Xbox One, but its still xbox live. Party chat has not gone anywhere. I had a guy earlier in a game of titanfall who begged for someone to talk lol. It was quite sad actually. No one did of course,
but we're all used to that by now.

 

I think this is a bug, I've only head people a few times, works fine w party chat though. The few times I do hear people it usually comes through the connect even though I have that turned off for chat and I can hear friends in headset in PC

 

I agree with mrfurious.. 90% of my time playing, the game chat is totally silent. Every once in a while you hear someone but it's usually through kinnect even though it's not set up that way. I hope it gets fixed.

 

I'm dying to chat with someone. so is it a bug or is no one really not talking? that's hard to believe with so many people playing the game

 

I have definitely heard folks chatting, but it's not a lot.

I think that overall, there are fewer and fewer folks who want to chat during the games which is too bad IMO.

I wonder what, on Xbox Live, could possibly discourage people from participating in game chat!?!?!?!

I haven't played because I cant chat should have headset sorted soon I hope

 

Or a group is already in party chat. that's what I do when I game on titanfall with 4 friends...the other 2 in the team...oh, well!
