Game chat doesn't work properly

    Game chat doesn't work properly


    Has anyone found a fix for game chat not working? If we're in party chat with 6 people everyone can hear each other fine but when we switch to game chat there are always a few people you can't hear and it changes who hears who just by switching lobbies.
    You can see the person's mic moving but there is no sound. Same thing sometimes for randoms in game lobbies too, mic moving....no sound. Games just aren't as fun without being able to talk to people in lobbies. Tech support at Xbox wasn't any help. Any
    ideas? Tried hard resetting xbox, router, opening the ports, DMZ the Xbox, switching to Ipv6 but the problem remains. I can take the same party over to the old 360 and game chat works flawlessly.

    Let's see what Microsoft has to say about this. As I have 2 replies. 1 hinting on replacement and 1 on a needed update

    try changing you headset chat mixer to halfway or full up depends if you want to hear sound. i hope this was helpful.

    I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the Xbox community. How are you?

    Can you listen to game chat but can't talk or can't even talk and listen? I believe you have done everything I could recommend but try the next one.

    Disconnect your console from your current connection, clear your console's MAC in advanced network settings, restart the console.

    After that share, your phone's connection as a hotspot, connect your console to that network, and test the games again.

    Thanks maxen for your reply. I did test my friends controller and headset and it worked on his but not on mine.

    It was with his and it didn't work on mine but on his. I also bought a new mic and I used my other controller and the result was still the same. My Turtle Beach is also wireless so the chat adapter wasn't used.
