    Game captures on Live


    I have an Xbox One and I captured a few screenshots of a game that I now want to delete, but it's not letting me on Live. Even though I clicked on "Delete on both" with the screenshots, the captures are removed from the console storage but not from Xbox
    Live. Every time I try to delete them, it says that they are deleted but as soon as I go back to my captures, they are there again. I've tried deleting them one by one, I've tried mass deleting them, I've tried restarting my console, I've tried restarting
    my wifi and internet, but none of these have worked.

    This has been ongoing for a week now, I don't know what to do.

    Unable to share external HD captures on Xbox Live

    What you need to do is copy your captures to the captures folder on Windows 10, should be in your videos folder. Then launch the Xbox app, select captures, then select this pc, and your captures should be listed, select the capture you want to upload, and
    give it a name, and choose the game it's for, and select upload. Once it is uploaded it will take a few hours to go on the xbox live feed.

    On Xbox One, when you make game clips with Game DVR, use the Upload Studio app to view and edit them.

    1. Open the guide > Broadcast & capture > Capture >
      Manage Captures.
    2. The default filter shows everything already published on Xbox Live.

      To see clips you’ve captured but not yet uploaded, select the filter On Xbox Live and choose
      On this Xbox.

    which xbox app? i know there's a new app but i can't find the option to upload captures to xbox live using it, the one that is for game pass, i can only upload captures using the xbox console companion but as i said there are a few games that i can't upload

    Why would Microsoft think it was a good idea to delete peoples captures that they've been saving?

    Thank you for reaching out to the forum. There are some limitations on screenshots and video capturing.

    • You can upload up to 10 GB of captures to Xbox Live. Once you reach those limits, the oldest captures will be removed as you save new ones (first in, first out).

    • Any game clip or screenshot uploaded to Xbox Live that gets no views in 30 days will be deleted. Viewing it yourself counts as a view, and saves a capture from deletion.

    • Captures you don't upload to Xbox Live will remain on the console they were recorded on.

    • Xbox One consoles hold up to 800 MB of screen shots and 8 GB of game clips. Once you reach those limits, the oldest captures will be removed when you save new captures (first in, first out).

    That might be the reason for your current issue.

    When viewing the captures, there is the option to choose between local storage and on Xbox Live. If the captures are not on either, then they are most likely gone.
