game BLACK won't play after download

Hi - I downloaded BLACK - an original XBOX game as it was on the reverse compatible list.....I've done all the suggestions on the support site - nothing works....latest is after a 2nd download is when i select it in my games & apps it only gives me the options
to move/copy/delete - no option to play. I have the option to "play game" when i go to my download history.

every time i try and play it there is no error code - but a "GAME ERROR - GAME CAN'T PLAY. PLEASE DOWNLOAD AGAIN.

any ideas?

Hey there Mark!

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue trying to play that old school title.

I would say that if you have already tried all those steps that the next best things for you to do would be for you to try a soft reset of the consol.
It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.

Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
will be removed) and have easy access to your internet network.

Also make sure that you select the option denoted
reset and keep my games and apps.

Hi Mark,

Is this on an Xbox 360 or on an Xbox One? Based on your description I'm assuming you are on an Xbox 360 but if you can clarify that would be great.

Backwards compatible on Xbox 360 with original Xbox games is not supported as well as it was back then because backwards compatible has moved on to the Xbox One. You can play BLACK on Xbox One through the backwards compatible emulator.

Also could you tell us what steps you've already tried that didn't work?

appreciate it Diego! it is on xbox 360...such a bummer as it's on the compatible list and the write up for the game says that it works with x360.....but i guess it's better to know now than to keep trying.

steps:

deleted original download and dowloaded again

restarted console

power cycle

cleaned out memory 3x

it's there in my queue, but again, only option is to move/copy/delete it.....when I play from my downloads i get the same game error (no error code) and it just says to download it again.

any other solutions? many thanks Diego!

Btw, there's a new Black Ops game out?

I want to play Tomb Raider as well. But after Fallout, which won't be any time soon.

I purchased and downloaded Plants vs Zombies Garden warfare, and the game won't play. When I try to load the split screen mode, it either stays black, or black with the daisy spinning. Also, the sound stopped working.
