Game being re-downloaded instead of being updated

Hello.

I have got a weird issue that has been annoying me lately with the Xbox One, whenever there is an update for whatever game , that particular update takes forever to download and when I check the Network bandwidth i see GBs are being downloaded for a 93MB
patch.

for example The witcher 3 patch size is 602 MB as stated my the Xbox One and when I started to download that batch I was surprised by what I have found in the network bandwidth section that about 1.236 GB was downloaded at 4% progress on the game icon.

1.236 GB / 0.04 = 30.9 GB

that is is the whole Witcher 3 game and the xbox one was supposed to download merely 602 MB.

nothing else is being downloaded.

my internet plan has a limit on the monthly bandwidth.

Please help me.

Games for Gold- Iron Brigade/Trenched update issues

I have exactly the same issue

Tried Clearing the Cache three times AND re-downloading it from Marketplace instead of Games with Gold menu. I even removed the latest Xbox system update, re-updated it and re-downloaded the game. Still same issue.

 

Games disappearing-disc games being downloaded instead of installed from disc

Recently my Xbox one has started to remove my games that are already installed. When I put the disc-owned games that I have into the drive, it proceeds to download the game and not install from my disc.

Any ideas what is going on?

 

Sometimes the bandwidth monitors of various devices get very inaccurate. What i would do first is to check with your ISP that the numbers are correct. Many ISP have a webpage or app that you can check the bandwidth usage more accurately.

If you have some knowledge of the configuration of your router, many of them can be set to monitor down- and upload usage too.

If your talking about the bandwidth monitor option on the One....(is that new btw?) I took a look at mine and that thing is so wrong its laughable how off it is.

It claimed I used 50gb of bandwidth in a single hour. If my internet ran at 100% max speed (which it never would) it would take over a half hour to download 50Gb worth of data. lmao it not only said that....but the hour after that...claimed I used another
30gb. 80 gigs in 2 hours....that isn't even possible.

I don't even get what it used to measure that.....I wasnt playing any multiplayer....or anything really.

 

Thank you both ( Angryvato and PHub07 ) as for the bandwidth usage I have double checked with the ISP webpage under my account and the router, the usage was about the right amount.

I have an external 2 TB HDD connected to the Xbox one and I went all digital this Gen.

all games are stored on the external and plus games i do not yet have and i just copied them from friends in case i get these games on sale someday.

for example Titanfall needed an update if i recall it was 93MB but instead it started to download the whole game and i have monitored the bandwidth usage through the router and believe me the Xbox one was going towards 20 GB in download, I have disabled
every device, nothing is using the bandwidth except the xbox one and it was just downloading Titanfall.

by the way ( PHub07 ) i have noticed the same behavior with the Xbox one bandwidth monitor, it is not always accurate and I still could not figure out how on earth some of the figures there even got calculated, perhaps a glitch in the accumulated bandwidth
usage or something.
