Game being copied and not working

I downloaded a game on a friends xbox becuase his internet is mich faster then mine so i thought to download it there. First i downloaded it onto his xbox and then copied it onto my xbox hard drive. We took off the original download and opened the copy version
and it worked. So i went home thinking i could play ut, but now its not working, could someone please help me or explain to me as to why i cant play it? Thank you.

That sounds really bad and frustrating. Hope get fixed soon and not copied to others games the way it is working right now,

We will be more than glad to assist with the issue at hand, however we will need a little more information on the matter. Is this a digital download or a disc? Who owns the licensing? Is the game being Gameshared? Let us know so we can iron this issue out!

 

This game is the fallout 76 beta and it is digitally downloaded and I'm not sure what you mean by owning the licensing but i pre-ordered the game, if not thst its by bethesda. Also as far as i know it is not being game shared.Thanks for your fast reply!

It appears that there is an attempt to access the Fallout 76 beta on your console after downloading it to a different console and then transferring it to an external hard drive.

We would like to throw in a suggestion so that we may diagnose what we have on our hands. Could you attempt to move the current installation file to the internal storage on the console and then launch the beta to see if this does in fact launch the title.

The reason for this will be to ensure corruption has not ensued within the installation process.

I tried this solution and it has not worked, when i attempt to move it, a window pops up saying

"try again in a while

sorry, looks like our services isn't working right. To check xbox live service status, go to Xbox One Support | Xbox 360 Support | Xbox Live and Billing Support"

If that is the case, then corruption may have a play in this and our options would be left to the uninstalling and reinstalling of the game, and as suggested by KARmA, the console may be taken to the original location where the game was installed.

Corruption may happen with network interruptions or general file misplacement.

We hope this information can lead to the resolution of the current situation.

Your previous reply has has answered my question and i am already re downloading it but i was curious to know, there were interruptions in the network as it was download but it stilled worked after we copied it and tested it on my friends xbox, is it that
i cant play it on a separate network or on a different xbox? Curious to know

 

You need to redownload the game and see if that works out!!

 

I know, i am doing that, was just curious as to why it wouldn't be corrupted the first time i tested it as opposed to whwn i tried it at home.

 

Basically two things

First and foremost yes if you copy the game to an external drive will work on the original console that dowmloaded as it is tied to that console

But it will.not work on your console until you redowmload the game to be associated to your console

Home console works on your console BUT you must acquire the license on your console
