Game Bar recognises mic input but does not recognise it in party chat

Some games don't seem to recognise the Kinect's microphone I believe - it's how they're picking up the input

I have the same issue. The workaround I'm using is to "pin" the Party Chat Game Bar widget. This way, the party chat stays visible when the rest of the Game Bar overlay disappears, and it keeps your mic active.

Hi Mr Gwyther. Just trying to use it for multiplayer games and to chat to my best friend who lives in the USA in party.. I'd like to use it for Live games, my kinect is good but unfortunately I have a small bird with a large voice! So unless the entire session
wants to listen to my bird squaking I need to get a mic!. I've tried both party and sending voice messages and neither works. It doesn't even recognise the headset any more.

Yes the mic is correctly inserted and works fine on Switch. The headset does not show on devices and when I try to start a party it doesn't recognise a mic.

I'm having the same issue with my quadcast mic. Works on everything. I can use in game chat with games like sea of thieves but not xbox party chat. I have my input selected correctly and I can see my voice being picked up in the audio settings for the game bar app but the circle around my Xbox user portrait is not lighting up when I push to talk. Also not getting anything when I turn push to talk off.

However it does work when I plug in my headset microphone. Even with my quadcast mic set as default input device.
