Game Bar Captures Folder Missing

I did that trick where you redirect the default captures folder to another drive, and now the captures folder is straight up gone.

"Save screenshots and game clips in: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp"

Before that it was saving to the Videos folder. It keeps changing it cause it's freaking out now. I have looked everywhere for a solution, but no one seems to have it :\

Microsoft, just let us be able to choose where we can save captures. This is ridiculous. I even tried to repair/reinstall the app. Nothing changed.

Open the computer - Settings - screenshot option, where you can change the folder location。

While I was looking for a solution online, I found a thread on the Windows side of these forums that seems like it helped another user who was having the same issue of the Capture folder being missing. The solution involves creating the folder through the
Registry Editor. I'll post the steps here for easier accessibility:

"Click your Start Button, type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor

In the pane, navigate to this Key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

In the right hand pane, do you see this exact item:

{EDC0FE71-98D8-4F4A-B920-C8DC133CB165}

If so double click that and set its value to:

%USERPROFILE%\Videos\Captures

If you do not see that in the right hand pane:

Right click in an empty part of the right hand pane and choose New - 'Expandable String Value'

Paste this as its name:

{EDC0FE71-98D8-4F4A-B920-C8DC133CB165}

Then double click that new string and set its value as:

%USERPROFILE%\Videos\Captures

Close the Registry Editor and restart your PC"

First of all, we're going to do some checks together;

When you go to Start button, and then select Settings > Gaming > Captures on Windows,
do you see the new folder you selected for your recordings?

This check can also be done in Settings > Game DVR in the Xbox app (the recording folder is displayed under the Saving captures option).

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. We would need to know more information regarding what exactly was done to cause this issue. Can you let us know step by step what was done to the capture folder? Be as detailed as possible.
