Game Auto Update issues

E Mc Sq: Right, I need to insert the disc for the update to be applied, but it appears the update auto-downloaded already. I was just replying with my experience since in this thread Blood Inside said nothing was downloading in the background with his/her
wired connection.

E Mc, this is definitely the case, the download will get to "99%" and won't finalize the installation until the disc is inserted and launched. This is the normal behavior. For a while, it wasn't even downloading, so going to play a game or app resulted in
the FULL download needing to happen, which was tiresome.

Looks like it's working now, at least for me. Hope others are having the same good fortune.

Hi The Ender, sorry, didn't read your post properly, thought you were confused as to why your disc games hadn't updated.

Just to clarify, i'm not in the current beta, but i put Forza 5 on and it seems to have been auto-updated.

First time in a long time.

I'm also having game auto update issues. Was just playing mad max and got kicked to dash to install an update. Why? It's a single player game! Did I really need the update that badly it couldn't wait until I wasn't playing the game!! If it's a mandatory
update and I'm IN the game just go off line and let me keep playing. What a god awful system MS well done.

Ps - mods do not lock this thread because it's old!

I once read (on a neogaf forum) that a disc based game will only install the update when you insert the disc.

I honestly don't know if this is the case.

Can any disc users confirm this?

Can anyone confirm whether or not you are still experiencing this issue? I was surprised yesterday when I logged into my console and all of the apps which were listed as awaiting update are now updated!

I have also tried with both wired and wireless, no difference. I am now in the current beta program, but this has not fixed the issue.

Hi folks! The devs are aware of this issue, according to an official support post in the preview forums. It appears to be an issue linked to hard-wired network connections, wireless connections appear to be updating. I believe this is being worked on, but
haven't gotten official word on it.

To narrow this down a bit, can you let me know if you are in the update preview or not? Also, what system version are you running? This can be found by pressing Menu, then going to Settings -> System -> Console Info. You should see the current version on
the third line (e.g. xb_rel_1403.140301, etc.)
