Game Auto Update issues

I have my xbox one on instant-on, and have the box marked Automatically download updates checked, but my console won't auto download game updates. It will update apps just fine, but anytime I start a game that has had an update since I last played, I have
to sit and wait for it to download and install. I talked to my friend and he said outside of the initial update from a game, all of his have done it in the background. Any ideas what I can do to get mine to work properly?

Didnt have that glitch but since they update I have been having noticable framerate issues. Also sometimes when I pick up green leaves they wont auto-craft

 

Xbox One Installing Game Updates

I've never read that the Xbox One is supposed to perform game updates in standby ?

As far as I'm aware the auto update feature is for console updates.

 

Have the same issue.

Instant on and auto update are both turned on.

Most of the time it does update overnight, but i have had a few occasions where i have to update a game/app whilst i am using it.

For example i was in the middle of a single player race in Forza 5 when the screen went blank and i was forced to update, losing my progress.

According to the Forza website the patch had been released 2 days prior to me getting the forced update.

Why didn't the x1 download the patch overnight?

The most recent example was Dead rising 3.

Right in the middle of a boss battle and..bam! straight into a update required screen, all progress lost.

Why didn't the x1 wait until i had turned off the console before updating the game?

All games are digital downloads.

 

This is just getting a little frustrating. One of the features they bragged about was that we wouldn't have to sit and wait for games to download anymore, and I have yet to experience this feature. My friend also uses discs and never has to sit through
these updates.

 

GUNNER 26: Are your games on disc or are they digital downloads?

If your games are on disc the xbox will download the patch in standby mode, but wont install the update untill you put the disc in and load the game. This is normal.

If your games are digital it will (should) download AND install the update whilst in standby.

 

I have this problem since the march update. All set to instant on, download in background, wired connection. Nothing downloads in the background now, power brick stays with the white light and checking my router the One is still connected and has activity
but does not download any of the updates. Very frustrating.

 

I have the same issue as GT blood inside, can someone help me get this fixed?

 

Hi folks! The devs are aware of this issue, according to an official support post in the preview forums. It appears to be an issue linked to hard-wired network connections, wireless connections appear to be updating. I believe this is being worked on, but
haven't gotten official word on it.

To narrow this down a bit, can you let me know if you are in the update preview or not? Also, what system version are you running? This can be found by pressing Menu, then going to Settings -> System -> Console Info. You should see the current version on
the third line (e.g. xb_rel_1403.140301, etc.)

 

I'm not in the current preview, but i can say i have a wireless connection and updates in standby don't happen for me.

 

I have posted the link to this thread so the developers working on updates and fixes will know thissue is ongoing.

 

I have also tried with both wired and wireless, no difference. I am now in the current beta program, but this has not fixed the issue.

 

Can anyone confirm whether or not you are still experiencing this issue? I was surprised yesterday when I logged into my console and all of the apps which were listed as awaiting update are now updated!

 

I am using a wired connection, and I have two updates queued on My Apps & Games - Forza and Ryse. Both of these are discs and I haven't played them in a month or more. So I don't think it's a wired vs wireless thing.

I once read (on a neogaf forum) that a disc based game will only install the update when you insert the disc.

I honestly don't know if this is the case.

Can any disc users confirm this?
