Game/App Resume Fails

When switching between a game to an app or vice versa the resume fails. It feels like the game or app session is getting corrupted when the system tries to put the game or app to sleep which crashes on resume.

When switching to the YouTube app from a game session or from menu the screen goes black like it is trying to wake the app after a couple of seconds it seems to fail and the app loads a new session.

If I launch a game it loads and if I switch away to another app for maybe 30 seconds or more when I try to switch back to the game i hear the game music and other game sounds and get a black screen until the resume fails. At that point the game audio glitches
and game either crashes to the home screen but more often crashes the Xbox One. Sometimes the console restarts at this point but mostly it stays off until I turn it back on. Occasionally it is necessary to hit the touch sensor on the front of the console before
it will turn on. Have had to manually terminate the game session to prevent the system putting games to sleep.

The Xbox system apps seem to be ok it is specifically downloaded apps that are having problems. I have tried factory resetting the system and installing the games from disk which hasn't resolved the issue. Have only two games installed currently and plenty
of drive space. Have vacuumed out the vents to see if it might be an overheating prob but I have not been getting any system warnings about overheating.

Kind of stumped. Hope someone else has encountered this and knows what else to try. Web searching is not showing me any similar problems reported in forums however.

Installation Stopped!

Highlight the app u want to resume, hit the options button "what should be start" and click resume download.

 

I have the exact same issue as you. Which version of the Xbox do you have? I have the original.

 

I have the original XB One as well. I have since seen other forum posts about this issue but no solutions yet. Think it may be related to the August 20 update but I didn't notice it till sometime later. May be SOL till an update after MS identifies the
issue. I have had to hook my laptop up to the TV in order to go back and forth between games and YouTube. Frustrating.

 

For me this issue is stopped after uninstalling youtube completely shutting off the console pulling the power for a bit and restarting. It only occurs when youtube is reinstalled. XB support advises it's an issue with YouTube and can only be resolved with
a future YouTube app update. For the time being I am removing the app from the Xbox One.

 

If you've not done so already. I would suggest and recommend that you report the problem threw the console directly after you experience the issue. By submitting a report on the issue. You can help pinpoint the cause of the issue.
