I totally buy this though I'm also not bothered with 720p or 900p. The scorpio will be a good replacement for my xb1 if it breaks down, However I don't think this will happen. The Day one vhs version is a solid console. Also, the sooner we ditch the cloud
    vs actual hardware the better.

They definitely need to ditch the cloud. It hasn't done anything of note and it's been almost 3 years.

Smileskybird, according to Az the human eye can't see clearer than 480p LOL Future Xbox One games optimized for the Scorpio? :p

  3. I'll wait for the price to go down before I consider buying the scorpio. Also I think console generations are of the past now after remarks made by Aaron Greenberg.

Well Microsoft may take that direction but Sony and Nintendo won't. I mean which of the three has non exclusives once you add in the PC market? For a company that came into the console market as late as MS I think their future thoughts are about them and
    them alone.

  5. Obviously Scorpio is a way off yet and things will no doubt change but ....

All I've read last 2-3 days is Scorpio will have exclusives but only VR titles. If this is the case, again long way to go but I'd think long and hard because I personally have zero interest in VR so would I feel the need to take the step? We shall see.

^ That may well be at launch. I don't believe that will remain the situation, if the extra horses are there and can be used they will be, it may be a drip feed so as not to cause to many waves but they will come...

  7. I think/hope your right Genchy.

Maybe it's just the group of people/gamers I know but most I've talked to are similar to me, have zero or little interest in VR so surely it would be mad of Microsoft to make this all new powerful machine and only VR exclusives?

Some might be interested but I bet a lot will be put off by the price, Scorpio + VR Set, can't be cheap!

^personally I think its a no brainer, extra power and exclusives that harness that power sell consoles. It would be a bit like a car manufacturer bringing out the latest model and restricting the performance so as to not upset last years model owners.
    Simply not going to happen..

I suspect it will play out along the lines of "we developed the Scorpio with the intention of the extra power being for VR only but developers have asked us to allow it to be released for conventional games....."

  9. Slightly changing the subject

Are people here interested in VR? Do you think it'll catch on or after 6 months people will lose interest? Will it get good developer support?

    I have my doubts

    Two reasons I'm not interested

When I game I just like to relax, sit back, comfy chair and a nice big screen. Don't want to be sitting there with a toaster on my head and ...

I get bad motion sickness ( sometimes ) when I've watched a 3D movie especially at cinema, I'd need a bucket beside me playing on a VR :-/

I heard VR stuff may be very expensive, especially in New Zealand and maybe Australia/US/UK, costing a couple of hundred dollars. But I have watched a YouTube video when someone tried it I think PS VR? It may "look" 4D or much better than a flat HDTV monitor
seated in a environment, but what if you're dropping in a game. You'd expect to feel wind through your body, and I don't think VR technology produces that unless you stick some fans. What if you playing in a game which involves water? Unless someone with a
water gun squirts you. VR technology is no match to like Holodecks in Star Trek. But 21st century technology is not quite that advanced yet. Yet they want us to fork out hundreds of dollars in exchange for VR?

Xbox One is the Xbox 3

Xbox One S is the Xbox 3 1/2
