    Future 21:9 aspect ratio support for Xbox Series X


    Hey,

    Bit of an off field one but does anyone at Xbox have any idea if native 21:9 aspect ratio will be supported in the future for ultrawide monitors. I have the Samsung Odyssey G95 and would love to use it to its full potential, but at the moment i have the choice of black bars in 16:9 or an unatural stretching effect. I have seen articles from Samsung asking Xbox to add future support, but can’t find anything concrete online. Does anyone have any info?

    Hi,

    There is your issue. Xbox One only supports 1440P on 16:9 aspect ratios (2560x1440).

    Xbox supports your vertical resolution (1440), but not your display's horizontal resolution of 3440.

    I have no idea if MS will support 21:9 aspect ratio's on Xbox One in the future, although I believe Series X will.

    ArmyofOne94F The Xbox series Xonly supports 16x9 aspect ratio. As far as I know the 2560 x 1440P utrawides are all 16x9.

    I would really like MS to have support for 21:9

    Hi,

    Unfortunately, Xbox One S and X do not support 'Ultra Wide' display type resolutions with 21:9 aspect ratios. Unless this changes with a system update, your only option is Full HD 1920x1080 in 16:9 aspect ratio.

    Id didn't said that, Xbox support 21:9. but 16:9 aspect ratio can be stretched to 21:9, if you want.

    Xbox Project Scorpio and 21:9 Ultrawide Support

    No game supports 21:9. That is a movie aspect ratio.

    The Scorpio is a game console and will support 4K gaming as advertised.
    I guess you've never played Overwatch in 21:9 (or any other game). 21:9 is the best aspect ratio for games... I can't wait for the rest of the world to catch up.
