Funds in my Microsoft account set to expire??

As a game collector (That only purchases physical copies) I only use my funds for add ons. It is absolutely ridiculous that I am about to have over 200.00 expire if I don't waste it on games I do not want. Convert it to a gift card or something...

Help with the region change

Funds in your Microsoft Account

The funds in your Microsoft account will not move with you, so be sure to spend your money before you change your account location.

I thought if your region was set to the US though, you would get their marketplace and hence be able to spend the money, but if you can't then I'm not sure what happens then.

Unable to change payment options

Despite having funds in my microsoft account all my recent purchases are being charged to my credit card and I am unable to select alternative methods even though there are sufficient funds available in my Microsoft Account (the funds are the remainder of
the money credited when you stopped using MS Points)

I personally have never had this happen, or even heard of this. You should contact your respective Xbox Customer Support if you have not already.

The only currency due to expire on 1st june, are the microsoft points you had in your account 2 years ago that got converted.

How have you had that amount of credit that long, and why??

I was told 2 months ago my 0.56p was due to expire.

Other promotional credits can expire too, but i don`t know of anything that gives out 200.00 worth.

To clarify, if you added funds from a gift card it usually doesn't expire. But funds added through promotions or the Microsoft rewards program do expire. Expiration dates would be given in the terms of the offer.
