Fun game, but questions

Having never played Fifa since the PS2 days Im thinking I picked this one up even though many people seem to be down on it. Im actually loving it! But not being a soccer fan (yes Im American obviously) im still trying to pick up what the rules are and
everything. A couple questions though....

1. Tried my hand at managing a club. Picked DC United and was doing well, 5-1-1 when I kept getting messages about my language. Finally got fired for it. I assume this is the Kinect picking up me getting excited to say the least lol Am I correct in
thinking this? And what is it hating? I don't recall swearing but ohh well.

2. What does scouting players who aren't free agents accomplish? I have NO idea who anyone is in game, or what a certain position does, but when I send my scouts out to check for potential team builders, they keep telling me about players on other teams.
Are they players about to potentially become free agents at the end of the season?

3. Using default controls, where the B button is to shoot, I always overshoot the net, I have learned that the longer you hold it in, the higher the ball travels, so I understand not to hold it down long, but when I let up sooner, the shots are incredibly
weak. Any info on this is appreciated.

Fun game, but glitchtastic!

OK, I'm a HUGE Lionhead fan. Own Fable, Fable the Lost Chapters, Fable II, Fable, III, Fable Journey. Have spent hundreds of hours in these games. They are usually rather well polished. Fable III? Eek. Somebody let it out of the building early. From the
first 5 minutes I noticed very bad screen tearing. Whatever, I can look past it. The dialogue is great, I'm having fun. Wait...why am I suddenly at about 10 frames a second? Whoa. Uh...OK...I'll try to keep going. Ahh, chicken races! What could be funnier?
Wait...there's a glitch which prevents the race from happening, and I have to restart the game after 3 consecutive attempts to do the mission? Now hang on, where did my breadcrumb trail go? It just disappeared. Alright, let me hit start and save, and get out
of here. No, not Sanctuary, I want to save. Start. Back to the map? Oh for the love of God. Forget it. I'll reply the last 15 minutes the next time.

When the game runs, it's a lot of fun, and absolutely hilarious. Sadly, it runs well about 50% of the time. I would hope that in the 2 years it's been out, it would have received enough patches to make it easily playable. I guess I'm wrong. Disappointing.
Maybe I'll try clearing my cache and giving it a shot again tonight. It's already installed to the HDD, so beyond that, I'll just have to accept that Lionhead did shoddy work.

It's supposed to take you to the sanctuary unless your in a mission/location that requires completion first.

 

1) When the game first loads up, switch the Kinect to "disabled". This will prevent that from happening. I do this EVERY time.

2) Free agency, while it does exist in the sport, is seldom utilized. In order to bring in new players to your team, you have to buy them from other teams. Think of it like when the Yankees recently bought Tanaka. They had to pay his Japanese team millions
of dollars just to sign him. Your scout is essentially going out and finding players on other teams that you could buy during the transfer window. Transfer window = January and (pretty much) the entire summer.

3) You just need to find a happy medium. Some players have a better shot than others so it will be more forgiving.
